BUS ISSUES AND CONCERNS

Both the authority and the responsibility for school bus transportation belong to DETMO - Hanau School Bus Office located at Hanau High School. Inquiries about school bus passes, bus routes, delays in students’ arrival home after school, complaints or concerns about bus misconduct should be directed to: 06181-906-9958/9959.

Registering for the School Bus

The first step is to register children in the school.

Next is to visit the School Bus Office. Both a parent and all students needing transportation need to be present to register for transportation, receive a bus pass (usually with the student’s picture), and to receive information or briefings on the route(s) stops and schedule, bus safety, and behavior standards and discipline rules.

Administrators will support and give input to DETMO when determining consequences for inappropriate actions that take place on the bus, boarding the bus, unloading and at the bus stop. Depending on the severity of the infraction, consequences can and may be twofold; meaning if the infraction warrant a suspension, it could be suspension from riding the bus and suspension from school. Any bus misconduct observed by school staff members is also reported to an administrator.

The school staff makes every effort to ensure that students board the correct buses each day. Requests for changes will be made through the SCHOOL BUS OFFICE ONLY. Requests must be made within 24 hours to the bus office. After the bus office honors this request, we ask that parents notify the school in writing stating that the bus office has approved and accepted this request in order for us to ensure that your child is placed on the proper bus. If the bus office hasn’t honored this request, your child will go home his or her regular way.
